Kristina Tyler, PhD, QME - Clinical and Forensic Psychology
Welcome to my practice!
I am a clinical and forensic psychologist and am licensed in California(#21771), Iowa(#116956), Texas(#38684), Virginia(#0810008902), and Wyoming(#875). I work in multiple situations and with clients from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds, ethnic groups, and personal identifications. I hold a PhD (doctorate) in Family Psychology and have been practicing for 15 years. I provide psychotherapy in my office as well as virtually (video meetings) for my clients' convenience.
My clinical work generally involves working with difficult populations and diagnoses, although I conduct therapy with most situations and all ages. I also have expertise in working with divorce situations (such as high conflict situations, coparenting therapy, relationship repair, or coping and adjustment) for all ages. I provide family and couples psychotherapy and conduct various psychological evaluations (such as pre-surgical evaluations, diagnostic evaluations, educational evaluations, and risk of addiction evaluations). I have conducted over 2000 clinical assessments.
My forensic work (any "court related" work) includes working for the courts and testifying as an expert in child development, domestic violence, child abuse, age-appropriate parenting plans, and divorce issues, as well as conducting child custody and personal injury evaluations, criminal evaluations, fitness for duty and civil competency evaluations. I have conducted well over 500 court-related evaluations and over 1000 psychological tests.
I have taught in the California Community College system for 21 years teaching child development, marriage and family courses, abnormal psychology, introduction to counseling, general psychology, and statistics classes.
